State 21 Delivers Evidence Gathering Training to staff at Port of Cromarty Firth

State 21 Ltd is delighted to have just delivered two days of evidence training to the Port of Cromarty Firth (PoCF). The aim of the course was to explore the security issues affecting all UK Ports and how staff who are responsible for enforcement at PoCF can effectively use their powers, manage encounters, secure evidence, maintain adequate records and provide evidence towards a successful prosecution of their port Bye-laws.

Using interactive scenarios based on PoCF Bye-laws, State 21 delivers practically based realism to what many would see as a dry subject. The course was delivered by Tony Birr an experienced trainer who is well known within the industry, who also brings extensive practical experience of legislation within the port environment, and Gavin MacMillan with 30 years of law enforcement experience including training.

Graham Grant Marine Support Manager at PoCF said "State 21 delivered a highly topical, relevant and comprehensive course on areas that are becoming increasingly important to Ports and Harbours in the UK. We operate in a fast-changing world and we need to provide our people with the proper tools to meet new challenges and risks. This course certainly provided food for thought as well as practical and workable solutions. The high level of engagement from my colleagues was maintained primarily down to the style of course delivery and the obvious experience both Gavin and Tony have in their subject matter. We very much look forward to the next course"
